ABOUT CHRISTINE ALUYI

Born on November 7, 1967, in Ughelli, Delta State, to Late Chief Akuopha Fiakpore and Late Madam Brandy Mary Clark, Mrs. Christine Ejetavwo Aluyi, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management is a distinguished administrator and the Pioneer Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic Orogun. She hails from Agbarha-Otor in Ughelli North LGA and is a proud alumna of the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State and the College of Education Warri, Delta State, Nigeria.

Her educational journey reflects her passion for learning, as she commenced her educational journey at the university of Benin Staff School and Emede Grammar School, Emede, Delta State. She earned an NCE in 1990, a BA in Foreign Languages in 1994, and an MA in Translation in 2010. From her early career at Delta Printing and Publishing Co. Ltd to her groundbreaking appointment as Registrar of the College of Education Warri and the first alumnus of the College to become a Principal Officer, Mrs. Aluyi has always exemplified excellence and dedication.

Today, as the pioneer Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council at the Federal Polytechnic Orogun, she is setting the foundation for academic and administrative excellence in the institution.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1994 - 2002, 2002 - 2006

As an Adverts Executive from my Youth Service year, I procured adverts for the company by identifying prospective clients and making them see the need for them to advertise with the Pointer Newspaper

2002

As a Proof Reader, I read through news and features materials for publication, to check for correctness of spellings, sentences and the flow of ideas. I made corrections and suggestions where necessary.

2006 - 2014

Served in various administrative roles from Assistant Registrar to Deputy Registrar, supporting the Provost and Registrar in executive tasks such as speechwriting, meeting coordination, record management, and staff supervision.

Key responsibilities included managing Academic Board minutes, DELSU Programmes admissions, coordinating exams, handling student/course registrations, supervising the Nursery & Primary School, and representing the Provost/Registrar at meetings and events. I also managed memos, prepared reports, followed up on action points, and assisted in decision-making processes.

As Deputy Registrar, I oversaw administrative staff matters such as promotions, annual leave, and study leave, while continuing my duties in the Registrar’s Office. In the Provost’s Office, I served as the most senior administrative officer, assisting in day-to-day operations, acting as Secretary to Management meetings and TETFund Committee, and chairing the Junior Staff Committee.

2020 - 2023

  • Substantive Registrar, College of Education, Warri. Head of general administration, custodian of College documents, Custodian and Interpreter of College Rules & Regulations, Secretary to Governing Council and all Council/College Committees, Secretary to Academic Board and Secretary to Congregation.

CHIEFTAINCY TITLE CONFERMENT

Mrs. Christine Aluyi was conferred with a Chieftaincy title, the Funtebe-ere of Ngbilebiri Mein Kingdom by his Royal Majesty Prince Samuel Akpomiemie Fuludu, Ogiogio II, the Pere of Ngbilebiri Mein Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on the 29th of November, 2024.
